Por Qué el Speaking y el Writing son Clave en el Aptis

El Aptis General evalúa cuatro habilidades: Reading, Listening, Writing y Speaking. Las dos primeras son comprensivas y relativamente fáciles de preparar. Sin embargo, el Writing y el Speaking son donde muchos candidatos pierden puntos innecesariamente, no por falta de nivel, sino por no conocer los criterios de evaluación y los formatos específicos.

Esta guía te da los trucos y estrategias específicas para el Speaking y Writing del Aptis General que te ayudarán a maximizar tu puntuación, tanto si apuntas a un B1 como a un B2.

🎤 SPEAKING DEL APTIS GENERAL: Estrategias y Ejemplos

Formato del Speaking

El Speaking del Aptis General tiene 4 partes, todas grabadas:

Parte 1: Preguntas personales sencillas (2-3 preguntas) Parte 2: Describir imágenes y comparar (1-2 imágenes) Parte 3: Discutir un tema con tu compañero (interacción grabada) o reflexión personal Parte 4: Discusión más abstracta / hipotética

Criterios de Evaluación del Speaking

Los examinadores evalúan cuatro dimensiones:

1. Coherencia y cohesión: ¿Tus respuestas tienen sentido? ¿Desarrollas las ideas?
2. Rango de vocabulario: ¿Usas variedad léxica o siempre las mismas palabras?
3. Precisión gramatical: ¿Cuántos errores cometiste?
4. Pronunciación e inteligibilidad: ¿Se te entiende claramente?

Consejos por Parte

Parte 1 — Respuestas Personales

Pregunta típica: "Tell me about your hometown."

❌ Respuesta B1 pobre:

"My city is Madrid. It's a big city. I like it."

✅ Respuesta B1 sólida:

"I'm from Madrid, which is the capital of Spain. It's a really lively city with lots of things to do. For example, there are many museums, parks and restaurants. The weather can be very hot in summer, but I enjoy living there."

✅ Respuesta B2:

"I come from Madrid, Spain's capital and largest city. What I particularly love about it is the energy — it's a place that never really sleeps, with a vibrant cultural scene and excellent food. The summer heat can be quite intense, but it's a small price to pay for the quality of life the city offers."

La diferencia clave: A nivel B2, las respuestas son más elaboradas, tienen conectores más sofisticados y el vocabulario es más preciso (vibrant, intense, quality of life vs. big, hot, good).

Parte 2 — Descripción de Imágenes

Truco: Usa una estructura de descripción predecible para no quedarte sin palabras:

1. ¿Qué hay? "In this picture, I can see / there is / there are..."
2. ¿Dónde está? "...in the background / foreground / on the left / at the top..."
3. ¿Qué está pasando? "They appear to be / it looks like / it seems that..."
4. Especulación: "I think this might be / could be / is probably..."
5. Comparación (si hay dos imágenes): "Both pictures show..., however, while the first one depicts..., the second one focuses on..."

Vocabulario útil para describir imágenes:

• On the right/left, in the centre, in the foreground/background
• Appears to be, seems to be, looks like
• I can make out... / what appears to be a...
• The overall atmosphere is... / The mood seems to be...

Parte 3 y 4 — Discusión y Opinión

Para dar tu opinión con fluidez:

Nivel B1:

• "I think that..."
• "In my opinion..."
• "I agree/disagree because..."

Nivel B2:

• "From my perspective, I would argue that..."
• "While I understand the other side, I firmly believe that..."
• "That's an interesting point, and I would add that..."
• "On balance, I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages because..."

¡Nunca respondas con una sola frase! Si la pregunta es "Do you think technology has improved our lives?", una respuesta de 5 palabras como "Yes, I think so, yes" te dará una puntuación muy baja. Desarrolla siempre con ejemplos o razones.

✍️ WRITING DEL APTIS GENERAL: Estrategias y Ejemplos

Formato del Writing

El Writing del Aptis General tiene 4 partes con una complejidad creciente:

Parte 1: Respuesta corta en redes sociales (perfil, post) — ~20-30 palabras Parte 2: Mensaje informal (texto, email casual) — ~40-60 palabras Parte 3: Email formal o semiformal — ~60-80 palabras Parte 4: Respuesta larga (opinión, ensayo corto) — ~80-120 palabras

Errores Más Frecuentes en el Writing

Error #1: No leer el contexto

El Aptis siempre te da un contexto específico (eres un empleado que escribe a su jefe, un amigo que responde a un email...). Ignorar el contexto y escribir de forma genérica hace que tu respuesta no pase los criterios de tarea.

Ejemplo: Si te piden escribir un post en un foro de viajes recomendando un destino, tu respuesta debe ser en primera persona, debe recomendar un destino específico con razones, y debe tener el tono de un post en redes sociales (no un ensayo académico).

Error #2: Registros mezclados

No mezcles inglés formal e informal en la misma tarea. Si te piden un email formal a tu jefe, no uses contracciones (I'm, it's), emojis o lenguaje coloquial (gonna, wanna).

Error #3: Respuestas demasiado cortas o demasiado largas

La brevedad en la Parte 1 es una virtud (20-30 palabras). Escribir 80 palabras para un post de Twitter no refleja buen dominio del registro.

Ejemplo Completo de la Parte 4 (Tarea de Mayor Puntuación)

Contexto: Un amigo te pregunta por email si crees que es buena idea mudarse a otra ciudad por trabajo. Responde a su email.

❌ Respuesta B1 pobre:

"Hello, I think is good idea to move to another city for work. It is exciting and you learn things. Also you make new friends. But it can be difficult. Anyway, it depends. Goodbye."

Problemas: Error gramatical ("is good idea"), vocabulario repetitivo, falta de cohesión, cierre demasiado abrupto.

✅ Respuesta B1 sólida:

"Hi [Name], Thanks for your email. That's a big decision! I think moving to a new city for work can be a great opportunity. You'll meet new people and learn a lot. Of course, it won't be easy at first — you'll miss your family and friends. But in the long run, I think it could be really good for your career. Let me know what you decide! Best, [Name]"

✅ Respuesta B2:

"Hi [Name], Great to hear from you! Moving cities for work is certainly a major step, but from what you've described, it sounds like a genuinely exciting opportunity. On the one hand, the career benefits could be significant — new contacts, new challenges and a fresh perspective. On the other hand, leaving your support network behind is never easy, and you should factor in the emotional costs alongside the professional ones. Have you considered visiting the city for a few days before making a final decision? That might help you get a real feel for the place. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll make it work! Keep me posted. Best, [Name]"

Lo que hace diferente el B2: Mayor longitud con coherencia, vocabulario preciso (factor in, support network, fresh perspective), conectores variados (on the one hand / on the other hand, alongside), pregunta de vuelta que demuestra interés genuino.

⚡ Checklist de Última Hora para el Aptis

Antes de enviar cada tarea de Writing:

• ¿He respondido a todo lo que se pide en el contexto?
• ¿El registro (formal/informal) es consistente en todo el texto?
• ¿He usado variedad de vocabulario o repito las mismas palabras?
• ¿He revisado la concordancia sujeto-verbo y los tiempos verbales?
• ¿La longitud es aproximadamente la correcta?

Antes de cada respuesta de Speaking:

• ¿Voy a dar más de 3-4 frases como respuesta?
• ¿Voy a incluir un ejemplo o una razón que desarrolle mi idea?
• ¿Voy a usar conectores para estructurar mi respuesta?
